Pets and gaming

Ahh, the joys of pets and gaming.
Or not.

Our dog Alfie is something of a menace. So a few days ago, I was finishing up Halo 3 (I know, it took me forever. I was away from my 360 quite a lot this year, so ended up playing Halo 3 quite disjointedly...I definitely plan on playing it again, more consistently.)
Anyways, I was on that part just before you enter that structure where you end up teaming up with the Flood. The part where you have to take down 2 Scarabs and a bunch of Banshees. And I'd better mention that I didn't know there was a whole lot simpler way of destroying them (shooting the core at the back)so I was trying to do everything by shooting their legs, temporarily disabling them, jumping on, destroying the core, blah blah blah, which took quite a bit of time, and took me a number of tries before I managed to do it. Or almost did it. This is where Alfred comes in. I had just destroyed the 2nd Scarabs core, and jumped off of it when...BAM!! THE TV SWITCHED CHANNELS!! Alfie had walked over to where I was sitting, trod on the switch with his grinch like feet, and switched the channel from Halo to static! Now, after you destroy a Scarab's core, you have to haul ass and get as far as way as possible, otherwise the explosion takes you with it. Well, I managed to change back to the right channel just as I saw the Chief being blown sky high. Great. Thank's Alfie. And that's not the worst of it. After that, I tried like, a hundred times to do that part again and failedddd. Until I was saved when I figured out the other method for destroying them (not the sharpest tool in the shed, I know.) But seriously, I think I almost lost my mind the amount of times I kept trying to do it afterwards and died.

But the ending, ahhh. Poor Master Chief, lost in space. He is the ultimate cool dude. My hero.
